Jennifer Love Hewitt’s most recent TV shows, “Ghost Whisperer” and “The Client List,” were canceled for disappointing ratings despite having a very loyal fanbase, but here’s hoping her next project will fare better with network bosses.

The new mom has been cast as an FBI agent on “Criminal Minds,” TV Line confirms. She will make her appearance as a new member on the Behavioral Analysis Unit on season 10, which premieres this October and, who’s to say, if she’s a hit with the fans (which she will most likely be), her role could be extended to more episodes.

But first things first: the trade publication says that Love will be playing Kate Callahan, a “seasoned” FBI agent who, through her work and spectacular achievements, earns herself a spot on the Unit.

“We’re thrilled to introduce a new special agent by adding the very talented Jennifer Love Hewitt to our amazing cast,” Erica Messer, the showrunner of “Criminal Minds” says in a statement.

“Many of us on the show have enjoyed working with her over the years and look forward to again. We have exciting storylines planned for her character and the entire BAU team as we head into our 10th season,” Messer continues.

Though she hasn’t been doing too many projects since her “I Know What You Did Last Summer” hottie days, Jennifer can always rely on her loyal fans. That became obvious when the cancelation of both “Ghost Whisperer” and “The Client List” lead to protests online and even boycotts from the fans.

Some might still be upset over it to this day. Hopefully, they will find some consolation in seeing her on “Criminal Minds.”
