Jennifer Love Hewitt has never been the kind of celebrity that makes a spectacle of her personal life, but she’s really managed to pull a fast one on her fans this year: after getting engaged and becoming pregnant, the actress is now a first-time mom and a wife.

Jennifer and fiancé Brian Hallisay met while working together on “Love Bites” and reconnected and started dating on the set of the now-defunct “The Client List.” That was in 2012; in June 2013, they were engaged and happy to announce they were expecting their first child together.

Today, a rep for the actress confirms for Us Weekly that the baby was born yesterday and that both mother and child are healthy. The mother is also a wife, the rep casually mentions.

“Jennifer Love Hewitt and her husband Brian Hallisay are thrilled to announce the birth of their daughter. Autumn James Hallisay was born on November 26,” says the publicist, with a second source explaining for Us that they “got married recently in private.”

In a recent interview, Hewitt said that she and Brian didn’t want to know whether they were having a boy or a girl because they wanted to go down the traditional way, of finding out when she gave birth.

Also then, she gushed about her amazing experience during the pregnancy, even though, as fans might recall, it was marred by at least two incidents: one which forced her to shut down her Twitter after receiving death threats and too much criticism, and one in which Brian and she were involved in a paparazzi scuffle.

“You sort of have these pictures in your mind of what [the baby's going to look like]. I'm really excited to see what he or she is going to look like!” Jennifer said, as cited by the aforementioned media outlet.

“ think most people, when they're getting ready to be a mom, they go, ‘Oh my gosh, I have to have all of the answers right now,’ but every kid is different, every parent is different and every child and parent relationship is different, so you just sort of have to wait until you're in it and do the best that you can to try to be Zen in the middle of it all,” she also said.
