Jennifer Lopez has been away for a few years, long enough to get skeptics talking about she would probably not be able to face competition from the likes of Rihanna, Katy Perry or Lady Gaga. If her words are anything to go by, she’s up for the task – because “Love?” is a great album.

“Love?” is a project that has been in the making for a really long time and that saw several setbacks before release, with the biggest when the singer decided to leave Sony.

Soon enough, fans will be hearing it in its entirety, after getting only a taste with “On the Floor” and “Papi,” the first two singles off “Love?”

In a recent interview cited by MusicRooms, JLo reveals she too has her moments of insecurity, when she turns to those around her for confirmation that she’s just as good as she was 10 years ago and, most importantly, just as relevant.

“To be honest I’m at the point where there’s no need to put out something that I know is not good,” the singer and American Idol judge says in the interview.

In other words, she wouldn’t be coming out with an album now if she wasn’t dead sure that it was the best work she could come up with.

“I have people around me who I trust implicitly: my record company and my manager. They tell me it’s a great record and I go, ‘OK, so I’m not crazy’,” the singer says.

At 41, Jennifer Lopez seems to be super-mom: she juggles motherhood and family life, with her music career and her time-consuming job as judge on American Idol. And she does all of them brilliantly.

In the same interview, Lopez says her twins with Marc Anthony think of her as both mom and pop star, but Marc’s kids from his previous marriage have some trouble reconciling the two images.

“It’s me, the same as ten years ago, but not the same and I’m proud of that. Marc has two other sons, one of whom is six years old and he’s always telling me, ‘You don’t look like a mom, you look like a rock chick’,” Jennifer says.

Below is JLo’s second single off “Love?,” “Papi.” Enjoy.
