Jennifer Lopez’s new album “Love?” drops in April this year and, as expected, the singer is busy promoting it. After the hit that was “Louboutins,” Lopez introduced a new single off the upcoming material at the 2010 Sanremo Italian Music Festival this Friday, called “What Is Love.” As the New York Daily News can confirm, she also performed a medley of some of her biggest hits, getting the audience dancing and clapping to the beat.

New releases first, Lopez got things in motion with “What Is Love,” an upbeat track of which many say it should have been her first single off the new album as it would have fared much better in the charts. This was actually her second performance within the festival. Dressed in a military-style outfit, complete with chains and combat boots, and accompanied by a small troupe of dancers dressed in the same manner, Lopez seemed to be mouthing the lyrics of the song, which has made many media outlets and celebrity bloggers back in the US label the performance somewhat of a letdown.

Nevertheless, the track sounds great and, lip-synching or not, Lopez showed that she still has that certain something to put on incredible shows, especially in the context in which she’s been out of the spotlight for quite some time and is reportedly somewhat “rusty.” The song is included on the score of “The Back-Up Plan,” in which Lopez stars as a woman who sees herself forced to turn to in vitro fertilization because she’s yet to find her Mr. Right.

Another highlight of the Music Festival was Lopez performing a medley of her tracks, this time live and dressed in an absurdly tight leather outfit. “Lopez sang a medley of her major hits: ‘Jenny from the Block,’ ‘Waiting for Tonight,’ ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing,’ ‘Get Right’ and ‘Let’s Get Loud.’ No doubt constricted by the tight leather, she didn’t perform highly complicated moves, settling for a lot of hip swiveling and stomping. But that was probably enough for the male population,” the NY Daily News says.

At the end of the performance, Lopez smiled and asked the audience breathlessly, “You didn’t know I could do that did you?” as they were cheering her on. Below are the two performances Jennifer Lopez put in at the 2010 Sanremo Italian Music Festival.
