Jennifer Lopez Officially Addresses Divorce Rumors

It’s been a very rough period for celebrity couple Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, with rumors of an impending divorce, and even of physical altercations, plaguing them ever since before the Christmas holidays. Jennifer has just taken a stand to defend her marriage in the media, rubbishing reports of a divorce and explaining why she did not wear her wedding ring on several outings.

“Divorce is not – and was never – an option,” the actress told In Touch Weekly in a short, but down to the point statement just released. Even more, if this is not enough to put all the rumors to rest, she also has taken her time to explain why she did not wear her wedding ring on several occasions, including at the much mediated Golden Globes. The ring, she says, was simply not an adequate accessory for the dress she wore.

“Every time I’m not wearing my ring, people think I’m getting divorced. That’s crazy! It just didn’t go with the dress.” says the singer, who opted not to wear her 8.2 carat Neil Lane engagement ring at the glitzy ceremony. Instead, she chose a red ruby large piece that, in all fairness, was quite a sensation matched as it was with the daring golden gown that revealed her enviable shape.  

Rumors of Jennifer and Marc heading for Splitsville first emerged when the diva was photographed on the red carpet without her ring. Then, reports claimed that the two would announce the divorce in February, on stage, in front of their fans. Just the other day, several publications ran stories according to which the situation between the two had gotten to a point where Jennifer was even forced to run to former flame Diddy for support and advice.

“After months of fighting the couple’s fiery marital brawls have escalated to a whole new level. Sources close to the couple say that the twosome’s emotional war of words has now crossed the line and become physical.” Star magazine wrote.
