Good news, football fans! So many of you were outraged at the fact that Jennifer Lopez decided to skip on her performance at the Opening Ceremony of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, that she actually changed her mind and decided to do the show after all.

Until today, it was all official, fans were told that Jennifer Lopez would not be performing at the World Cup during the Opening Ceremony where it's become a tradition for the official anthem to be sung. This year, Jennifer was one of the artists supposed to lend their voice for the song “We Are One,” along with Pitbull and local singer Claudia Leite.

There was no clear explanation as to why the biggest star of the event suddenly decided to pull out in what was deemed as an unprecedented move, but it seems that since the announcement came out yesterday, Jennifer has had a change of heart.

An insider told Radar that “The backlash was so significant that she decided that she needed to attend.” It turns out that after weighing the situation, Lopez decided that since she's got a new album dropping, all the negative backlash could be hurtful and she didn't want to take a chance.

The same insider also explains the reason why Jennifer dropped out on what many singers consider a career highlight: money. “JLo was in a back and forth with the World Cup about expenses,” claims the source, explaining that “She had wanted them to cover everything for her, from private transportation, to her hotel and the costs associated for her entire entourage.”

When FIFA told her it wasn't going to pay for her entire entourage to be flown and accommodated in Brazil, Jennifer told them she was dropping out of the Opening Ceremony. It turns out that Lopez cares about her people very much, to the point where she would jeopardize her own career to see to their best interest.

Fortunately for all of us, the record execs were able to talk her out of her idea and convinced the singer that it was better to leave pride aside and do the World Cup song or risk people boycott her new album, which drops on the same day as the Opening Ceremony, June 12.

“But in the end, the record label privately told JLo that she needed to perform this event,” the source concluded “It’s the world stage…It would have been foolish for her not to exploit the World Cup for the publicity factor alone.” Once again, money proves to rule the world.
