She teased, she said she wasn’t sure what she wanted to do next in her career but she eventually came around: Jennifer Lopez has agreed to do another season of American Idol. More details and confirmation are pending.

JLo started off as one of the least favorite judges, in the sense that most AI fans believed she would be too soft for a show that once included meanie Simon Cowell on the panel.

Not only did she fare wonderfully but she also managed to do what other judges previously on the panel failed to do: win over the viewers at home.

Consequently, people weren’t happy when she said she might not return for another season of the show because she had other, just as important engagements to consider.

E! Online has now learned that a new deal has been struck – and it guarantees that Lopez will be back on the show once auditions kick off, and then for the live shows.

“Jennifer Lopez is coming back to American Idol,” E! announces. Contrary to earlier reports, the diva has decided that she can find time in her busy schedule to squeeze AI in.

“Lopez has also agreed to return. A source tells me exclusively an announcement could be coming any day now,” the report further says.

Some of those early reports claimed that Lopez’s schedule wasn’t the only thing holding her back from saying she was on for another season, like fellow judges Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler did.

Jennifer and husband Marc Anthony are now working on their own show in the vein of Idol, called “Q’Viva: The Chosen,” so she will be very tied up in the project for a while.

She’s also considering doing more movies, now that she’s again a hot commodity in Hollywood thanks to her stint on AI.

More importantly, Jennifer is also believed to have asked for more money from Fox to return to the popular show: inspired by Simon Cowell before her, she asked producers to double her money and pay her $23 million for a season, it was said.
