Jennifer Lopez Is Upset People Think She's the Mother of Her Boyfriend

At 42, Jennifer Lopez is dating a man who is almost half her age, backup dancer Casper Smart, who is just 24 years old. While December-May romances are nothing new and are definitely not as scandalous they once were, the diva can't handle some of the reactions she gets when she's with Casper.

In other words, she's tremendously bothered that some people mistake her for Casper's mother, the National Enquirer says in its latest print issue (story via here).

“I’m his girlfriend – not his mother!” she was reportedly heard screaming when a McDonald's employee misunderstood her relationship with Casper.

When she started dating her backup dancer, the idea of the age gap separating them seemed very appealing but, in time, Jennifer has started having second thoughts about it.

She's very bothered by some of the things people will say about her because of the new man in her life and, as it happens, she can no longer hide just how upset she is.

“Jennifer is tired of people making comments. She doesn’t know what’s worse – being mistaken for Casper’s mother or accused of being a cradle-robbing cougar!” another insider says for the same celebrity publication.

JLo is well aware of the age gap, but it still hurts when she's reminded of it by others.

“But it kills Jennifer every time the age difference is brought to her attention,” adds another spy. Being recently mistaken for his mother literally made her blow a fuse.

“The two of them stopped in a McDonald’s recently, and Jennifer was mortified when the cashier asked Casper if he wanted to have his mother’s order added to his or if they were going to pay separately,” says the tipster.

She didn't wait to have either order taken, so she just grabbed Casper's arm and led him out of the fast food restaurant.

What's worse is that this wasn't even an isolated incident, which is forcing Jennifer to start thinking that, while she might not believe the age difference is that noticeable, people can actually tell she's much older.

“Jennifer enjoys spending time with Casper, but her ego is taking a solid beating. Friends predict the nonstop comments from strangers are the beginning of the end for the couple,” the spy concludes.
