Jennifer Lopez is not having the best time of her life - professionally speaking, that is. But there is an upside to her new album tanking, to her label being close to dumping her and to her new movie being a complete flop and being released straight to DVD in January when it is released. You guessed it - yet another celebrity has joined the "confirm Jennifer is pregnant" bandwagon, and thankfully this time it's not one of her ex husbands, but designer Roberto Cavalli.
The Italian fashion designer was apparently commissioned to create a selection of special outfits for the singer so she can hide her baby bump on the joint tour she has embarked on with husband Marc Anthony. Cavalli stated that: "At this moment Jennifer Lopez is requesting something very special because she is waiting for the baby. It is so complicated because every week she is getting bigger".
Well, of course she is - and with the media on Lopez baby watch since...well, forever, I could say, the fact that she was seen on stage wearing a series of loose fitting, empire line outfits that fall from the bust, skimming her baby bump has not helped. Cavalli also said: "The thing about Jennifer Lopez is she is a singer, she is a dancer. Most of the time when I prepare something for the tour, the performer, they want something very soft so they can dance and so they can move free."
Lopez is thought to be due to give birth in spring. However, this seems to be the only (very bright, I admit) shining ray of light in an ocean of gloom. J. Lo's new album, "Brave", has flopped, only selling 53,000 copies in its first week. As a result, rumor has it that her record label Epic is now believed to want to drop the singer because production costs for the unsuccessful LP have been so expensive. Imagine this: her latest video cost no less than $300.000 to make, her make-up artist cost $8,000 a day, while $60,000 was spent on the album cover alone. Yes, well, no offense to J.Lo but I sort of see their point.
And just to cap it all, J.Lo's troubles seem to extend to her acting skills as well: her new movie "Bordertown" (co-starring Antonio Banderas) in which she plays a reporter which investigates the murders of female factory workers in Mexico - is said to be going straight to rental in January and was reportedly booed at the Berlin International Film Festival. Well, what can I say - I guess Ben Affleck might have had a point in what regards his former girlfriend's acting skills. Or maybe she just has a bit of bad luck. I'm not worried though - as soon as the baby is born, she'll be back on her feet and dazing us all with her lavish lifestyle in no time.
