Next to Beyonce and Solange Knowles, Victoria Beckham and the Cruz sisters, Penelope and Monica, Jennifer Lopez is also a celebrity endorser of the Samantha Thavasa line, the bag collection for more clarity. Over the weekend, the singer flew to Japan for a special appearance at the Thavasa shop in Marui City in Shibuya, Tokyo, unveiling a more urban chic and youthful look on the same occasion.

Although, back in the early 2000s, when Lopez was still trying to find the onstage persona that would best suit her music, she made a name for herself with her “Jenny from the block” urban style, in recent years, she’s been all about the glamour.

Amazing gowns and stylish jewelry pieces, and a certain obvious sense of fabulosity have become a trademark for the singer, especially in recent months, pre and post her giving birth to twins, it has been said.

In Japan, though, Lopez chose to go for something more casual to which the young women targeted by Samantha Thavasa could relate more easily.

Dressed in a simple black-and-white top with black leggings, but wearing a pair of killer, yet totally gorgeous heels, it would have taken a shot in the dark to guess that Jennifer Lopez was actually 39 and a mother of two children, several US media outlets are pointing out. The new hairdo, in a much lighter brown color and a newly added fringe, only contributed more to the impression of chic youthfulness and exquisite urban style.

The entire outfit was paired with a furry black coat and, of course, a black-and-white Thavasa tote, in a true celebrity endorsement manner. During the meeting, the singer told the approximately 100 Japanese girls in attendance that she simply found Japanese fashion irresistible, and encouraged them to pay attention to and follow what their inner voice was telling them in terms of keeping trendy. Being true to oneself was the only guaranteed way to stand out from the crowd, Lopez also said.

Despite being excited to be in Japan for Samantha Thavasa, Jennifer also admitted to feeling a bit “traumatized” about the journey, since this was the first time she had left twins Max and Emme at home with husband Marc and she traveled alone since she gave birth to them. The singer also spilled the beans on Marc’s plans for more kids, saying that she personally wanted to do a couple of projects first and only afterwards try for more babies again.
