14 DAY TRIAL // Jennifer Lopez is back and she’s even more glamorous than ever, if that’s possible. After the release of her lead single off “Love?,” “On the Floor,” the diva has just unveiled the brand new video for her second single, a collaboration with Lil Wayne called “I’m Into You.”
Following leaks of photos from the video shoot and lots of teasing by Jennifer herself, she finally premiered it on a recent appearance on Today, MTV News informs.
The video begins with Jennifer, always the glamourpuss, frolicking on the beach with William Levy, the biggest telenovela star of the moment – and quite a looker as well.
There’s not really much of a plot to the video, unless one may call that an excuse by director Melina Matsoukas to show Lopez in as many outfits as possible, one more glamorous than the other.
One does, however, get the distinct impression that Levy, Lopez’s love interest in the video, has managed to win her over completely and that, as the lyrics also say, she’s totally into him.
“Along with the song’s midtempo beat, ‘I’m Into You’ also features an unexpected dance breakdown, where Lopez bursts into some swift choreography to a clip of her Love? cut ‘Papi’,” MTV notes.
“Despite shooting photos with Wayne, the video does not feature a cameo by the Young Money MC,” says the same media outlet.
Asked on Today why she chose Lil Wayne for a collaboration, Lopez pointed out that he was probably one of the most creative and interesting artists with whom she hadn’t yet worked – so she jumped at the chance of doing just that.
“Lil Wayne is just interesting. He’s different. He’s just not the normal type of artist. He’s just kind of eccentric. I like that. I think other people like it too. He has the artistic credibility with the other artists,” she said.
As for the video, it was a blast, Jennifer revealed.
“We did it in Mexico in Chichen Itza. It was really beautiful. I’ve never been,” she said.
“It was funny because over Christmas, I had my whole family at my house, and every day my cousins and my aunts and everybody tuned in to this thing [telenovela] to see this guy... I called my cousins and they were like, ‘It’s William Levy. You’ve got to get William Levy!’” the singer added.
