14 DAY TRIAL // Since they walked their first red carpet together, there’s been a lot of talk and even more snickering about how Jennifer Lopez was paying for everything in her romance with Casper Smart, even the presents he bought her for Christmas, anniversaries, or birthdays. This time it’s no different.
The National Enquirer (via ShowbizSpy) claims to have it on very good authority that JLo is positively dying to get engaged but, for once, she doesn’t want to get her checkbook out for that to happen.
Insiders reveal for the tabloid that she’s told Casper in no uncertain terms that she’s expecting him to propose as soon as possible and, even more, that she expects him to pay for it because, after all this time working together, he has enough money for it.
Moreover, she’s also told him what to get her for an engagement ring, you know, to make things easier for him: Jennifer wants a 5-carat diamond ring, no cheaper than $250,000 (€184,270).
Considering that Marc Anthony, her previous husband, proposed to her with a gorgeous and huge $4 million (€2.9 million) diamond ring, you could almost say that Casper’s getting off easily. Almost.
“Jennifer Lopez is anxious to get engaged to her young boyfriend of the past two years, Casper Smart, but there’s a catch — she’s insisting he buy her a massive 5-carat rock with his OWN cash! Jennifer is dead-set on marrying Casper, but she feels that he needs to spend his own money on the engagement ring,” the tipster says for the Enquirer.
“If he dips into his own pocket, it will show everyone how serious he is about her, and how much she means to him. Money is a sensitive subject for them because she’s the big breadwinner. But Jennifer points out that he’s earned hundreds of thousands of dollars from her since they got together, plus now he’s getting paid for public appearances and modeling gigs,” the insider says.
Sadly, chimes in another source, Jennifer is wrong in her estimates of how much money Casper has made in recent months because he for one is convinced there’s absolutely no way he can afford such an expensive ring.
Because of that, he’s very stressed and “doesn’t know what to do,” the source continues.
