It's not every day that Jennifer Lopez contacts you out of the blue and demands that you send her pictures of you “with and without your clothes.” But that's exactly what one man got in his mail, and now he's suing the singer for $10,000 (€7,313).

This scandal has “fake” written all over it, but Rodrigo Ruiz went ahead and filled the papers anyway. In them, he claims that Lopez sent him a letter out of nowhere back in 2008, demanding that he send her revealing photos of himself, as well as a CD with his demo.

Ruiz is now mad because he was led on to believe that he had a shot at a romantic relationship as well as a possible career in music, but the diva hasn't followed through with her promises. In his lawsuit, Ruiz says that he was so depressed, he had to seek professional help.

Three letters were sent in total to the man, in what looks to be a classic “catfishing” case. Catfishing is the term used in hoaxes where people assume a different identity in order to fool their victims. In this case, it looks like the three letters were sent by a 53-year-old woman, TMZ reports.

In the first letter, Lopez promised to leave her husband and informed Ruiz she was interested in him. She said she couldn't reveal more, but needed “pictures of [him] with and without [his] clothes.”

In the second, she pretty much says the same thing, adding that she had gotten all of his packages, music and demos and reiterating her request for revealing photos. Finally, in the third one, she informs him that she has a new boyfriend and that he's “in for the long haul.”

The P.O. box the letters were addressed to is owned by a 53-year-old woman in Los Angeles. When contacted in regards to the scandal, she said that she was operating a Jennifer Lopez fan mail exchange.

While Ruiz is firmly convinced it was Jennifer who sent him those letters, a representative for the singer had this to say: “this is a small claims matter that appears to be a desperate attempt for notoriety. Ms Lopez has never seen or met the plaintiff, nor has she ever communicated with him. We believe this matter should be summarily dismissed.”
