And you thought Jennifer Lopez’s movie career was a joke! After several, more or less successful attempts to make a name for herself as a decent actress, JLo struck gold at the box office this year with the thriller “The Boy Next Door.”

The movie was panned by critics and even by the fans, but it still drew large audiences. Universal Pictures was thrilled with the box office returns, especially since this was a small-budget production, and they want to follow up on it with a comedy.

The pitch goes by the title “Mothers I’d Like To…” (you don’t really get any points from guessing how this phrase would end, especially considering JLo’s bombshell status) and is described by Deadline as “Bridesmaids” meet “First Wives Club.”

Further details on the synopsis are not available at the time, but Jennifer confirmed the above by tweeting a link to the trade publication, with the hashtags #Excited and #StayTuned. So, yes, it’s happening: JLo will get to carry an entire comedy and it will be called “Mothers I’d Like To…”

Lopez will also produce through her Nuyorican Productions house, together with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina. Mark Perez is in charge of the script, based on an idea by Goldsmith-Thomas.
