Jennifer Lopez is coming to Las Vegas. Following the leads of Celine Dion, Britney Spears, and more recently, Mariah Carey, Jenny from the Block is preparing for a residency in Sin City, at the Axis theater at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.

If the name sounds familiar, it’s because it’s where Britney is currently performing her Piece of Me show. As it turns out, reports dating back to October 2014 that Lopez was in talks to replace Spears once she was done were accurate.

Residency includes 20 dates, for now

You can see Lopez’s announcement in the Instagram video below, which plays like a TV promo. Speaking to USA Today, the diva says she’s been preparing for this moment and this stage in her career for a very long time.

Performing at Caesars Palace on last year’s New Year’s Eve to a sold-out crowd got her thinking of the benefits of doing a full residency: she would still be working but she’d be in just one place, as opposed to touring, and this would offer further stability for her and her 2 kids with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

Plus, she says, the idea of doing a Vegas show is so glamorous that she simply couldn’t resist.

The first concert takes place on January 20, with 19 more dates scheduled for the following months, through June. For the time being, Jennifer will not commit to more, seeing how she’s already working on a very packed schedule, which also includes her stint as judge on American Idol, her recording career and her acting career.

An once-in-a-lifetime kind of opportunity

After American Idol wraps its 14th season, Jennifer will have more spare time on her hands, and she plans to use it to start preparing for the show. It’s still early, but she doesn’t want to take any risks and deliver a flawless, one of a kind concert for her fans who will be buying tickets.

Speaking of which, they go on sale on May 16, so if you’re a fan, keep an eye on her official website.

JLo promises the wait will be worth your while.

“I’ve been preparing for this moment my entire life,” she explains. “The show is going to be a multifaceted high energy Jenny from the Block party, mixing all aspects of what my fans and I love - Dance, Hip Hop, Latin and Pop. It’s going to be the show I’ve always dreamed of creating.”

So excited!!! This is going to be the show I've always dreamed of creating. Tickets on sale Saturday, May 16. #JLoVegas A video posted by Jennifer Lopez (@jlo) on May 12, 2015 at 6:41pm PDT
