Because of her talent, which has already secured her an Oscar, and her involvement in a huge film franchise, “The Hunger Games,” Jennifer Lawrence is the most talked-about, scrutinized and overexposed celebrity of the moment.

She has absolutely no intention of making things worse for herself by joining social media, she admits in a new interview with BBC One Radio.

You will find the video of that interview in the video below. She was joined by her “Hunger Games” co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, as they’re now in the middle of promoting the latest installment in the franchise, “Mockingjay Part 1,” which comes out in theaters a week from Friday, on November 21.

Social media is off-limits for Lawrence

Asked if she’d ever consider joining Twitter to keep in touch with her millions of fans and get more exposure for her projects, Jennifer is blunt: never. She’s technologically challenged as it is and she doesn’t need any more media attention, she explains.

So, she warns her fans, if they see accounts that seem to have been set up by her on Facebook, or Twitter or Instagram, they can just take her word for it: they’re fakes, because she’d never get one.

Oh, and you can blame the Internet for that.

“It’s because the internet has scorned me so much that I feel like it’s that girl in high school that I’m like, ‘Oh, you want to talk about her? Yeah I’ll do that!’ Take my hoops off, I’m ready to go,” she explains.

She’s not exaggerating either: though she’s one of the most popular young actresses today, Jennifer prompts very heated reactions in the online realm whenever she does a new interview or appearance. People either love her or they hate her with a passion, and most importantly, they go online to make themselves heard.

Having to read through that must feel exhaustive and emotionally draining for her, so no wonder that she’s not looking to up her pain even more with social media.

Blame the photo leak as well, while we’re at it

Another reason Jennifer must be craving at least a bit of anonymity right now must be her recent and very embarrassing brush with notoriety, which came when her iCloud account was hacked and nude photos stolen – and then posted online.

She explained later that she’d taken those for her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Hoult, and insisted that she had absolutely nothing to be ashamed of or apologize for, because what had happened to her was a crime. The photos were never meant to go public, but someone on the Internet refused to accept that, so they just appropriated what was rightfully hers.

Seeing how she was the celebrity with the most photos stolen (and leaked), yes, it makes sense for her to want to keep as low a profile as possible when she’s not bound by contract to do media rounds to promote her work.

Check out the entire interview: both Jennifer and Josh are having some health issues during the current promo tour. Liam too has an issue, but it’s not health-related: that hair’s gotta go.
