As any respectable “X-Men” fan must know, when she’s not her blue, clothes-less self, Mystique can shape-shift. In the upcoming “X-Men: First Class,” the role is played by Jennifer Lawrence – and she’s now opening about her mutant “costume” and how long it takes to make it.

The star, who comes to fill in the shoes of Rebecca Romijin, says having to be on set for so many hours with so little clothes on seemed very odd to her at first. Quite an understandable statement, for that matter.

Speaking with E! Online the other day, Lawrence reveals that, more so than with being almost completely uncovered, she had a problem with having people touch her, saying she has nearly no modesty left now.

“I used to walk around and be like, ‘Oh, my gosh – I’m naked!’ But now I could walk in the street and people could start touching me and I would just wait for them to finish and I’d keep walking. I have, like, no modesty left,” the actress says for E!.

Of course, fans know that Lawrence is not really nude, just like Romijin wasn’t either when she appeared in the previous “X-Men” film.

It takes about 8 hours to apply body paint and latex scales, and then some more to do her hair and makeup, Lawrence reveals. It’s a lengthy process, she adds, and she’s not always very comfortable.

“When everybody hears that they think I’m laying down and sleeping but it’s not,” the actress says about telling people it takes 8 hours to create Mystique.

“I have to stand or sit on a bicycle seat!... First they put these latex scales on me and then it’s six layers of body paint and then eye makeup and then hair,” the star reveals.

Aside from being part of one of the most anticipated comic book movies, Lawrence has other things to be thankful for: like working with the handsome British actor James McAvoy.

He’s adorable. He’s not bad to look at all day,” Lawrence says with a smile. Again, a statement that makes a lot of sense.
