Jennifer Lawrence hosted the latest edition of Saturday Night Live and, for a young actress who is incredibly spontaneous and funny, her opening monolog was rather underwhelming. Check it out below.

While the idea for it – of roasting her fellow Oscar nominees – was good, the execution left a lot to be desired. Most voices online agree that bad writing was probably to blame for that, and that she did her best with what she’d been given.

Lawrence kicked off her monolog with jabs as Jessica Chastain who, as of now, is still considered her biggest rival in the Best Actress category at the Academy Awards.

She then ripped into Naomi Watts, Quvenzhané Wallis and Emmanuelle Riva, while the camera kept zooming in on “Tommy Lee Jones” in the audience, who caused quite a ruckus at the Golden Globes 2013 with his “I’m not impressed” face.
