It's safe to say that almost everyone who found out about the romance wanted it to work out, since both Jennifer and Chris were on the rebound – he after a divorce, and she after a messy split from boyfriend Nicholas Hoult.
Jennifer went for one last visit at Martin's house, sources say she came to apologize
On Thursday night, October 30, paparazzi caught the actress sneaking over to Chris Martin's home for one final time. A source close to the couple told Daily Mail that “Jennifer went over to Chris's to apologize for the coverage of their breakup being so one-sided, reclaim her possessions and to ensure there were no hard feelings.”
The split is believed to have been caused by Chris Martin's close relationship with Gwyneth Paltrow and her constant meddling in their relationship. She is, after all, his ex-wife, but because of their two children, they continue to be very much together, as the actress insists on a tight schedule of Martin and the kids meeting.
Sources claimed that Jennifer felt threatened by this and ended up breaking off her romance with the Coldplay singer, feeling that she could never compete with the mother of his children. The day before, Gwyneth introduced Martin's surprise set at the amFar Gala in LA and called him “the world's best father.”
People thought they were getting back together, but it seems that Paltrow's influence is just too big for Jennifer
The last visit prompted speculation that Jennifer and Chris were getting back together, but a friend close to them denies this possibility, claiming that Jennifer simply went over to “ensure he was OK” but that “They're not getting back together.”
The tabloid claims that Jennifer is now telling friends that she's more than happy to be alone for a while and that she doesn't have any plans to get into another relationship for the time being.
That same night, Chris was spotted at what seemed an early Halloween party but Gwyneth seemed nowhere in sight. The singer seemed to be enjoying himself although he didn't come in a costume. As all of this was going on, Jennifer was seen driving around aimlessly in her car without license plates.
