In April this year, Oscar-winning singer Jennifer Hudson, labeled a “big girl” back in her American Idol days, announced that she’d teamed up with Weight Watchers in a bid to lose some weight and start leading a healthier life. In just a couple of months, she had already registered serious progress – but her photospread for the latest issue of InStyle magazine, the Makeover edition, is still shocking for how stunning she looks, as The Examiner points out.

The singer and actress dons the hottest items of clothing, including high-waist skirts and wide belts, and skinny jeans and leggings, all of which she probably could not afford to wear some months ago. Though she doesn’t say how much weight she’s lost, Jennifer reveals she went down from a size 16 to a healthy size 6, which makes her achievement truly extraordinary. However, she doesn’t plan on shedding more pounds or becoming a size 0: this is where she stops, she is quoted as saying.

“I don’t want to lose any more weight, and you’re never going to see me skinny. I think this is a good, natural size for me,” Jennifer reveals. She’s changed dramatically as it is and she’s gotten to a point where she’s very comfortable and confident about how she looks. “I was in an airport and the girl working the X-ray machine said, ‘Anybody ever tell you you look like Jennifer Hudson?’ I was like, ‘I am.’ And she said, ‘No you’re not. Because you’re skinny! Jennifer Hudson ain’t skinny!’” the singer and actress explains.

The Examiner says celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak also helped Hudson shed the extra weight – so it wasn’t just Weight Watchers that did the trick for her. “She’s not someone who typically liked exercising, but she saw the results and we got her working out 5 days a week. She had a newborn at home [son David was born in August 2009] so I got her taking walks with her baby in the area she lived in. We got hired [in August 2009] to help her prepare for the film she’s shooting right now, to play the role of Winnie Mandela. She’s in South Africa right now shooting [the biopic Winnie] and we email on a regular basis to find out what workout she’s doing and how much cardio she’s doing,” Pasternak says, as per the same publication.

When she made the announcement that she’d officially became the latest spokesperson for Weight Watchers, Jennifer Hudson stressed that she didn’t see the program as a diet, but rather as a new lifestyle choice, one that would also come with the plus of allowing her lose the extra weight. It would seem that the program worked wonders for her.
