Jennifer Hudson has lost about 80 pounds (36.2 kg) in the past two years: an amazing transformation that she says wouldn't have been possible without Weight Watchers. In a new interview, the star denies she took dieting to extreme by becoming a size 0.

A while ago, reports began to emerge that Hudson had reached her lowest weight ever, being basically a designer sample size, the controversial size 0.

The report seems to have originated from a comment Joy Behar made on The View. She basically said on the record that she heard Jennifer tell a shop assistant that she was a size 0, as we also informed you at the time.

It's just now that the singer is acknowledging the report, but she's only doing so because she wants to put rumors to rest and to tell those who felt “let down” because she'd lost so much weight that they had no reason for it.

She never said she was a size 0 because she was never a size 0, Jennifer tells Ebony magazine, as cited by the Daily Mail.

“I’m going to finally address that size-zero thing that Joy (Behar) said on The View. Hell, I wasn’t even on the show. I never said I was a size zero,” the Oscar-winning star says for the magazine.

She says Behar's comments nearly made her life impossible, because many of her fans would accuse her of lying – as it's common knowledge, Hudson said she lost weight because she wanted to be healthier, not to conform to the Hollywood standard of stick-thin celebrity.

By allegedly admitting that she was a size 0, Jennifer appeared to have succumbed to pressure from the industry to fit the mold of female celebrity, who must necessarily be thin.

“I got crucified by I don’t know how many people who cussed me out because they said I’m putting out the wrong message and telling people to be a size zero,” she says.

“I got called every name under the sun and was told, 'You should be ashamed of yourself for talking about being that size.' Well, honey, when I do say I’m that size, then give me that speech. I never said that,” Jennifer fights back.
