After last week’s little hiccup that knocked Jennifer Grey and partner Derek Hough off the leaderboard on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, the couple killed it during the Argentine tango, scoring the first 10s of the season.

Before taking to the stage to show what they’ve been working on for the previous week, the introduction video showed Jennifer apologizing to Derek for being so “old” and constantly in pain.

When she set foot on the dancefloor, none of that was obvious anymore, as not only did the “Dirty Dancing” actress manage to keep up with pro Hough, but she also got very warm praises from the judges – and this season’s first two 10s.

MSNBC calls the tango “almost perfect,” adding that Grey’s performance the other night was “a feat all the more impressive considering the fact that [she] remains the only non-pro whose partner designs pro-caliber routines.”

This week, judges changed the way they ranked the performance of the dancers and their celebrity partners, giving one set of scores for performance and one for technique for the same dance.

Grey and Hough’s tango scored two 10s for performance – but the technique was well ranked too.

“Matching Derek Hough move-for-move earned the ‘Dirty Dancing’ star the best score so far, as the judges broke out the ‘10’ paddles for the first time this season,” MSNBC Notes.

“Well, at least two of them did. Head judge Len Goodman left his ‘10’ sheathed for now,” the publication says.

However, the couple’s Argentine tango was the best dance of the night and of the season, thus confirming what Grey says in the intro video about how she likes to always think that the only way forward for her in everything in life is up.

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino either doesn’t believe the same or he’s just been having the most unlucky period of his life, because his performances on DWTS seem to be getting worse with each show.

“No amount of poor scores could tell Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino anything. Bad is bad no matter how you add it up,” MSNBC says.

“Still, the Sitch seemed shocked when he saw a string of fours and fives from the panel following his poorly-timed and barely-danced tango. It was as if the Jersey boy believed he deserved big numbers for simply catching his partner each time he tossed her into the air,” the same report further reads.
