Star steps out in very daring Tom Ford gown, is criticized for it

At 43, Jennifer Aniston still has an insanely fit figure, the kind of body many women would kill for. It’s not that much of a wonder then that she’s looking to show it off, which is precisely what she did the other night.

Attending the LACMA 2012 Art + Film Gala with her fiancé Justin Theroux – officially the first time they step out together in public after the engagement –, Jennifer instantly became the center of all attention.

The photo also attached to this article will probably confirm why: she wore an insane, very revealing Tom Ford gown, which ran down to the floor but was cut so low in the front her navel was almost showing.

All wardrobe malfunctions were made impossible by the use of a sheer panel that kept the sides of the cleavage together, even though Us Weekly seems to think differently.

Other media outlets hint that the daring dress might have been a “ploy” of sorts to distract people from her engagement ring; if so, she failed, because all eyes were on her diamond sparkler with which Justin proposed this summer.

The Christian Post reports that reactions to Aniston’s dress range from amazement at her figure (and seeming ability to pull such a risqué look off) to shock and disappointment.

Aniston should never scoop this low (pun intended) when everything she wears looks classy, gorgeous and elegant, some say.

“Why is it necessary to show chest... who is she aiming it at? The dress however is smashing and she has a great figure... it just took the class away from the whole picture,” one user is quoted as saying.

“My thought exactly. This woman would look good in anything, why this dress??” another replies.

Indeed, the dress seems too much for Aniston, who rarely reveals this much on the red carpet. On the other hand, it’s nothing compared to what others were wearing at the same event.

In the end, this could be just a matter of individual taste. Check out the photo as well and make sure you leave us your impressions on the dress in the comments below: just sassy enough, or way too revealing?
