Jennifer Aniston is sure taking her time with confirming the happy news in her life: weeks after word got out that she and Justin Theroux had become engaged, she’s debuted her diamond engagement ring and, no surprise there, it’s a very pricey item.

The other day, the former “Friends” star and her beau Justin were photographed together out and about, with a giant sparkler notable on her left hand.

Initial reports claimed that Aniston had specifically told Justin that she did not want something big because it wouldn’t represent her.

It turns out that wasn’t true because, by all means, her ring is giant, Gemology and Jewelry Expert Anthony Sarkissian of Beverly Hills’ Premier Jewelry Lenders says for Hollywood Life.

No one knows who designed the bauble or how much it cost, but Sarkissian believes its price tag could be very well in the vicinity of $1 million (€778,089), if only for the fact that it’s one single, huge diamond.

“If this is a fine quality diamond of at least 10 carats, which it looks to be from initial photos, we could be talking about a million dollar ring here,” he says.

“10 carat and over diamonds command a premium price in the diamond industry, because they are more rare than smaller diamond,” Sarkissian goes on to say.

Granted, the first photos of the ring are rather blurry, so, at this point, this is just speculation. Even so, Sarkissian believes the details of the jewel are nothing short of exquisite, as befits a trend-setter as Aniston.

“The ring looks to be a Cushion Cut or Oval Shape diamond, mounted in a classic Halo design. It may have Micro-Pave diamonds around the center stone as well,” he says.

“Once again, [Jennifer] is a trend-setter, going with a yellow gold setting. This is a popular trend in Europe right now, but we are just starting to see it here in the States,” the expert goes on to note.

Moreover, Jennifer could even inspire a new trend in terms of engagement rings, in that more yellow gold settings might pop up in the US now that she too has opted for one.

For the time being, Justin and Jennifer are yet to set a wedding date.
