Just yesterday, we were telling you that US weeklies were having a field day with the rumored breakup between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, and the actor’s (also rumored) return to his first wife, Jennifer Aniston. Star magazine particularly stood out with a bold headline reading something about an emotional reunion and a promise of reconciliation, but none of that happened, Gossip Cop says, citing well placed inside sources.

For those not in the know, Gossip Cop is a celebrity publication that deals specifically with rumors or stories that tabloids run, in the sense it picks them up and then looks for confirmation or, on the contrary, information. In the case of the Star piece, it’s the latter, because not only have Brad and Jennifer not gotten back together during a tearful reunion at the Hope for Haiti telethon on Friday, but he continues to be with Angelina.

“As Gossip Cop confirmed and numerous other outlets supported, Pitt and Aniston were both at George Clooney’s Haiti event, helping to raise money for the earthquake-ravaged island. But despite Star’s story and OK!’s insistence that the telethon was the site of an ‘emotional reunion,’ Pitt and Aniston never met face to face. And, as Gossip Cop reported, Pitt and Jolie have not split up. Does a couple with six children, two high-profile careers, and overwhelming media scrutiny (to put it mildly) face tension? Yes. But sources tell Gossip Cop that whatever problems the couple has, Jolie and Pitt are working through them,” the e-zine says.

Among the claims that Star magazine makes in the latest issue, we have as follows: that Brad and Angelina are history; Brad and Jennifer were reunited at the telethon but, before that, they had kept regular contact over the phone, with Pitt calling her almost every night; Aniston told Brad something like “Yes, I’ll take you back!”; they already had at least one romantic holiday together in Santa Barbara; Angelina too has kept other lovers while still with Pitt; and, last but not least, the Brangelina couple is waiting for the attorney to finalize the papers dividing their $350 million fortune to make the official announcement of the separation.

Fortunately, all this is pure fabrication, Gossip Cop says. For all the world knows, until they actually do step forward to make any statement along this line, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are still together. Also, the Jennifer Aniston chapter is a long closed one – with the only exception that tabloids refuse to see it as such.
