14 DAY TRIAL // It’s been nearly 5 years since Brad Pitt divorced Jennifer Aniston and then became an item with Angelina Jolie, but that doesn’t mean it’s been getting any easier for Aniston, says a new report.
As the entire world noticed, at this year’s Golden Globes, everything was about Brangelina, with producers literally going out of their way to put Brad and Angie countless times in front of the camera during the ceremony.
Notably absent at the Globes was Jennifer Aniston who, the latest print issue of In Touch Weekly claims (story via here), knew she simply couldn’t handle Jolie’s bullying and taunting.
The mag starts from the premise that, while Brad and Angie are usually rather on the cold side at public events, for the Globes, they seemed to go out of their way with their PDA.
That’s because, says a spy, Angelina knew Aniston would be at home, watching the awards show. Had Jen been there, the PDA would have been much worse, writes In Touch.
“Angelina still views Jen as a love rival, and she knows what to do to drive Jen to tears,” says an unnamed spy in reference to the many shots of Brad and Angelina acting all lovey-dovey.
Admittedly, Aniston knew what to expect and, even though the Globes would have been the perfect event to plug her upcoming film, the Adam Sandler comedy “Just Go With It,” she chose not to attend.
“She had originally planned to attend the Globes, and had been invited to be a presenter, but she backed out,” one of Aniston’s “pals” says for In Touch.
There was also the issue that she’s single right now that weighed heavily in the balance, since “she would have had to have shown up without a serious boyfriend.”
“Jen feels shut out of Hollywood because her movies haven’t been as successful as Angelina’s,” adds the same source. She knew from the start the night would be all about Angelina, her film “The Tourist,” and her and Brad.
“She knew the night would be all about them, and she just couldn’t take it. She hates playing the second fiddle, and she knows she can’t compete with the star power of Brad and Angelina,” the tipster concludes by saying.
