At the 2011 People’s Choice Awards, the industry celebrated the best of the best in television, film and music. The celebration may have started before the awards though, as Jennifer Aniston seemed intoxicated when she took to the stage.

The former “Friends” star was the first presenter of the night, for the Best Comedic Star, which she handed out to her “Just Go With It” co-star Adam Sandler.

As WhyFame also notes, Aniston looked her usual glamorous self in black Dolce & Gabbana with oversized gold jewelry by Fred Leighton. It was the way she spoke that got people talking.

The moment Aniston got on stage and greeted the fans with “Hello, people,” talk had already started that she seemed tipsy.

It must be a first thing for the actress, but the way she slurred her words while reading from the prompter would seem to indicate that she was a bit under the influence – but not enough not to be able to walk in heels, mind you.

“Was Jennifer Aniston drunk last night when she gave the award to Adam Sandler during the People’s Choice Awards? Unless she's Southern (which we doubt), the actress really had a few drinks before coming on stage,” WhyFame says.

As the video below will also show, at one point during her presenting duties, she slurs “serious” to something that sounds like “surress.” And that’s not the only indication she may have been tipsy.

“Another hint is the fact that she slurred the words ‘Hello, people’ in a drunky way. Then she left in a hurry, like all drunk people do when they realize people are laughing,” the aforementioned e-zine writes.

“What we find most weird is that Aniston was the first presenter. So we wonder how she had the time to get drunk? She had to have showed up at the ceremony already drunk,” WhyFame states.

Of course, it could very well be that Aniston was overwhelmed with emotion and that it made her slur her words. Then again, if she was a bit tipsy, it’s not like the People’s Choice Awards are the Oscars, her fans are saying online.
