14 DAY TRIAL // It’s been 10 years since Brad Pitt (allegedly) cheated on then-wife Jennifer Aniston with Angelina Jolie, dumped the former and started going out with the other. Brad and Angelina are now married and Jennifer is engaged to actor / writer Justin Theroux.
They seem to have moved on with their life, but the tabloids still insist there’s a side to the story we can’t see from the outside: one where Jennifer is still resentful, still planning to “get back” at Brad and Angelina for the betrayal and heartbreak – but mostly at Angelina.
She will have a chance to do so during the upcoming awards season, InTouch writes in its latest print issue, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Aniston, Jolie, Pitt are in the Oscars race
All 3 actors are getting significant Oscar buzz right now: Aniston is said to land her first-ever Oscar nomination for Best Actress for her role in “Cake,” Brad Pitt has won over critics with his performance in “Fury,” and Jolie is believed to be a possible contender for Best Director for her latest film, “Unbroken.”
It’s possible for them to avoid each other the rest of the year, but once the awards season kicks off, if all three end up nominated, this will be out of the question.
According to the tab, Aniston is positive this will happen, and she’s planning a big showdown at the first major awards gala of the season: the Golden Globes 2015, which will take place in January.
Aniston will give Jolie a piece of her mind, once and for all
Apparently, Jennifer is “repulsed” by Angelina and the way she acted in the aftermath of her split from Brad. She’s also very resentful and has been holding a grudge for all these years, so the moment she gets the chance to finally “confront” Jolie, she will make sure she hears what she has to say.
Brace yourself for drama: Aniston wants to “look [Jolie] straight in the eye and tell her how she really feels,” says an insider. At the same time, “she is nervous to the point of being sick over the prospect of coming face-to-face with Brad and Angie. But she has waited a decade for this.”
She would have let it go and not said a peep had it not been for Brad Pitt’s appearance on Zach Galifianakis’ Between Two Ferns Funny Or Die segment in October, when he made fun of his marriage to her. Well, he didn’t really make fun of it, but he did make a face when the theme song from “Friends” started playing, and she believes that was a diss at her expense.
The never-ending story of the love triangle
The first photo in the gallery is the cover of this week’s issue of InTouch, which vouches that the huge showdown will take place: both women are determined to have at it, so Brad’s attempts to prevent it are not leading to anything concrete.
The other photos are proof that this love triangle, even if it doesn’t exist, has been holding the first page of glossies and tabs for all these years.
Chances are that the 3 parties were grown-ups about the split and have long moved on from it, but that’s not the kind of story that gets attention. So whether because sources close to them are deliberately misleading the fans or the tabs are really creative, this narrative of the feud has lasted the test of time.
There’s also another theory popular in the blogosphere: though they disown it publicly, all 3 have played a part in keeping this conversation going, by having their people leaking stories at the right moment. That is to say, because the Oscars season is nearing, this is the perfect moment to remind you that they might be nominated – with a fake story about an upcoming “confrontation.”
