Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli deny they're divorcing because of an extramarital affair

Yesterday came the announcement that one of the most solid Hollywood couples, Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli, had decided to separate after 11 years. They're now denying an extramarital affair was the cause for the split.

The former “Beverly Hills 90210” beauty and the “Twilight” handsome star have been married for 11 years and have 3 daughters together.

Never before have rumors of cheating plagued their romance.

However, the instant they announced their decision to end the marriage, sources (as always, unnamed but claiming to be reliable) went to the tabs to say they had known Peter had been having an affair months ago, as we also informed you yesterday.

Both Jennie and Peter are upset that such rumors are making the rounds – and they want the fans at home to know there's no truth to them.

“There are rumors out there which are completely untrue and hurtful to our family. We just want to make it very clear – there are no third parties involved,” they say in a joint statement issued to People magazine.

They're referring to reports that Peter had an affair with a woman in her late 20s on the set of the final “Twilight” movie, when he was away from his family.

Admittedly, Jennie eventually found out about it and, while both she and Peter tried to make their marriage work afterwards, it had become clear to the both of them that it wouldn't anymore.

“Peter had been seeing another woman for quite some time. They (Jennie and Peter) tried to make it work for the sake of their children and Jennie played housewife for as long as she could but finally had enough,” a spy has been telling the tabs.

“Jennie knew. As a lot of couples do, they simply grew apart,” the insider added.

As it turns out, none of that is true.
