Actors Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli, one of the cutest and strongest couples in showbiz, are pulling the plug on their relationship. In a statement to Us Weekly, the two announce their decision to get a divorce.

Garth, known to fans mostly from the hit television series “Beverly Hills 90210,” and Facinelli, whose latest hit includes “The Twilight Saga,” where he plays the role of Dr. Carlisle Cullen, have three daughters together.

They have been married for an impressive 11 years and always made the impression they held the key for the happy ever after story.

As it turns out, they didn't.

“While we have decided to end our marriage, we both share the same deep love and devotion to our children,” the soon to be exes say in a joint statement for the celebrity publication.

“We remain dedicated to raising our beautiful daughters together. We ask for privacy and respect during this time,” they add.

As was to be expected, they don't mention anything about the reason they have decided it's time to call it quits, but word online has it that Peter's wandering eye might be to blame.

The Daily Mail notes that reports in the blogosphere say Peter had an affair on the set of the last (and upcoming) “Twilight” movie.

His wife eventually found out and, while they decided to weather the storm together, they simply drifted apart until the decision to divorce came almost naturally.

“A source has told website Scallywag & Vagabond that Facinelli was having a 'torrid affair' with an unidentified Canadian woman,” the British tabloid writes.

The woman, whose identity has not been revealed to the press, is believed to be in her late 20s.

“Peter had been seeing another woman for quite some time. They (Jennie and Peter) tried to make it work for the sake of their children and Jennie played housewife for as long as she could but finally had enough,” a source is quoted as saying.

“Jennie knew. As a lot of couples do, they simply grew apart,” adds the spy.
