New report says marital trouble began once “Twilight” became a hit

Even though they said in a joint statement that there was no third party involved in the dissolution of their marriage, rumors still make the rounds that Peter Facinelli cheated on his wife of 11 years Jennie Garth.

The Enquirer claims in its latest print issue (story via here) that trouble for the two began when “Twilight,” in which Peter plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen, became incredibly famous.

Suddenly, Peter was never at home, having become the breadwinner of the family, the tabloid says.

“All of their troubled can be traced back to 2008, when Peter costarred in the first Twilight film as vampire dad Dr. Carlisle Cullen,” a “friend” of the family explains for the publication.

“Until then Jennie had the bigger name and was the family breadwinner. But after Twilight, Peter went from being a run-of-the-mill actor to a heartthrob overnight,” adds the spy.

Trouble didn't start because Jennie was jealous or anything of the kind. However, Peter started drifting away from her because he was constantly working and not spending enough time at home, with the family.

In 2011, Jennie started suspecting that he was seeing other women while away, and things at home progressively deteriorated.

“Peter was either filming in Canada for 'The Twilight Saga' or in New York for 'Nurse Jackie.' Jennie suspected that he was seeing other women, and they’d have furious fights about it,” the spy explains.

Initially, she tried to make the marriage work as before, by pretending she knew nothing of her husband's affairs but, in the end, she couldn't do that anymore.

“Jennie knew all about Peter and the woman, and there were other women as well. She turned a blind eye to it for as long as she could. But she finally got fed up,” another tipster says for the tab.

One report online claims that Peter had a 2-year affair with a Canadian woman, which lasted while he was working on the final three installments of “The Twilight Saga.”

It was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back, it is being said, as we also informed you a while back.

Jennie and Peter were married for 11 years and have 3 daughters together. Jennie's CMT reality show, “Jennie Garth: Little Bit Country,” will document the way she's been adjusting to single life.
