Jennette McCurdy posts bruising letter about Ariana Grande and their friendship

The world of teenaged girls is very complicated and filled with dangers at every step and when the teenagers are celebrities, it's even worse. Take Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande, the stars of the TV show “Sam & Cat,” who are said to be at odds and their friendship is on the rocks.

Jennette McCurdy decided to address the issue in an open letter, but she doesn't mention who it's about, she just goes on to talk about a “fake friend,” although it's pretty obvious whom she's talking about. The letter was penned as a response to a fan who asked Jennette to give advice on how to deal with a toxic friendship.

“I actually wrote something about the topic of fake friends a while back but it was never published! Here it is, my dear...,” Jennette began the Twitter rant that she titled “Letting Go of Someone.” Then she goes on with the grilling of this mysterious friend who won't be named.

“I enjoyed her company because she was fun and energetic, but I had some reservations about how much I could trust her because she seemed to be a leech for drama and gossip. I decided the good outweighed the bad, so I continued hanging out with her for a few months until our friendship slowly fizzled out,” she explains.

It's weird because her description sounds exactly like the friendship she's got at the moment with Ariana Grande. “I felt like every time I hung out with her I was in quicksand. Being around her took my identity because everything in her world became just that... ‘Her world,’” she goes on, hinting subtly at the fact that Ariana actually gets a bigger paycheck than her on the show.

This is what many think actually started the feud. “We aren't better friends because being friends with you takes the ‘better’ out of me. In fact, I might possibly be the worst version of myself when I'm around you,” Jennette explodes, showing that her problems with her friend are way past a minor scuffle.

The conclusion is, given the current facts, that “I am officially dropping you as a friend. If I see you, I won't turn the other way and run (even though I want to). Instead, I'll just smile and end the conversation as quickly as possible, because no offense, but I don't want any of you rubbing off on me. Actually, that's pretty offensive. Oh well.”

Those are some pretty strong words from the actress who was recently caught up in a leaked rude selfie scandal. Whatever it was that Ariana did, it must have been serious to elicit this kind of drama from McCurdy. Then again, young girls have this way of blowing things out of proportion.
