I-play plans on turning the classic game of Jenga into a mobile phone one

One more classic game is taken from its classic environment and on to mobile phones. It is the case with I-play's Jenga family and party game which will be available for play time anywhere from now on, due to the mobility of handsets.

Jenga is a classic wooden brick stacking game which asks for players to remove certain bricks from a tower, but manage to keep it standing and do not remove any of the ones which bring it resistance. This asks for a great amount of concentration and precision, as the tower's stability can be deceiving.

The game will feature several possibilities for the player in order to make playing it even more interesting and entertaining. The mobile phone version of Jenga is meant to appeal to all players, no matter whether they have played it before as a society game, or this is the first time they experience it.

"Jenga's universal appeal and accessibility makes this game a perfect fit for mobile gamers who represent a broad age demographic and even split across both genders. We hope that gamers of all ages will be able to enjoy this game as a family, with their kids", said Leighton Webb, Senior Vice President for Content Strategy & Publishing, at I-play.

"Enthusiasm for Jenga extends across all ages and cultures, regardless of gender, race or language. This new platform for Jenga not only will extend the opportunity to enjoy this international game favorite, but will generate innovative play patterns and experiences", commented David Grebler of Pokonobe Associates, a company which has signed with I-play in order to bring Jenga on mobile phones.

Jenga will be available for purchase only from the first half of year 2008. Most probably, it will follow the release of console and handheld versions of Jenga this Christmas.
