Australian mobile phone carrier Vodafone has just announced that it would begin the testing of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S III smartphone in the near future.

The company has already received the software from Samsung, and will look into it so see whether it is fully compatible with its network or not.

The handset is powered by Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich Maintenance Release 2, yet its owners should get ready for more info on the new Jelly Bean OS flavor to arrive soon.

Unfortunately, the wireless carrier did not offer specific info on when the update will be released to its users.

However, provided that the testing will go according to plan, it should not be too long before users will start receiving it. Don’t forget to check back to this page again for further info on the matter.
