The hotly-anticipated Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for Samsung Galaxy S III has yet to go live globally. So far, the update has been officially pushed through in South Korea, but we also got reports that Galaxy S III owners in Sweden and Poland got it too.

It's unclear when and where exactly Jelly Bean for Galaxy S III will be rolled out next, and the same goes for the Galaxy Note upgrade, which has yet to receive its promised update.

Android enthusiasts in Canada who own either the Galaxy Note or the Galaxy S III will be happy to know that Samsung has just announced an official timeline for the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update.

Previously expected to be released in Q4 2012, the Jelly Bean update for both Galaxy Note and Galaxy S III is now set to be rolled out in the following weeks: “Exciting news for Note and S III owners! You can expect Jelly Bean to arrive before the holidays!”

Obviously, the new time frame doesn't say too much, at least it comes in line with Samsung's previous statement. Check out the original announcement here.

Unfortunately, there's still no news on the Galaxy S II update yet, but more information will be offered soon, Samsung claims.

It looks like Samsung takes its time to bring the long-awaited Jelly Bean update to Galaxy Note and Galaxy S III, especially that the South Korean company was rumored to offer this upgrade starting early September. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.

While Google has already released the next version of Android, most handset makers are still struggling to bring Ice Cream Sandwich on their devices.

Although Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean is already rolling out to Nexus 7, Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Wi-Fi Motorola XOOM, it will take some time until more device are added to the list.
