It turns out that one of the funnies pranks I have seen in a while, that of NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon punking a car salesman and taking him on a wild ride for a Pepsi ad, is completely fake.

As I told you yesterday, the prank features the star driver in disguise, as he cons a seller into letting him go for a testdrive and then showing off his skills as the salesman looks like he is about to faint.

The Independent Tribune of North Carolina reveals that the commercial has been shot at the Troutman Motors and Philip Morris dealership in Concord in February.

Some 75 people were involved in the making of the video, and Gordon didn't even drive the car. Another professional racer, Brad Noffsinger of the Richard Petty Driving Experience replaced Gordon during the stunts.
