The music industry is saddened by reports in the British media according to which there would be no follow-up to the great, wonderful, brilliant (words are not enough to describe it) album 'Paris'. Yeah,
that 'Paris', the one that Paris Hilton released!
All joking aside, rumor has it that the heiress turned fashion designer turned actress turned singer overnight has blown her chance of ever becoming a pop star. After a summer in which we were all forced to listen to the catchy beat and whinny voice of Paris in 'Stars Are Blind', chances are that we would be able to have a moment's peace and quiet sometime in the future.
Initially, the 'Stars Are Blind' single got some raving reviews and, despite being such crappy music, it caught quite well with the public. In fact, it did so great that Paris shot a second video for it and her label were actually thinking what an instant hit her album would be.
Wrong! 'Paris' bombed so hard in all the charts (but not quite so bad as Kevin Federline's 'Playing With Fire' did) that the second release from it, 'Nothing in This World' barely got two people's attention. Even if the album did not sell from the very start, the record company did its best to promote it: they sent the blonde heiress all over the world to sing and pose, they organized a massive promotional campaign and there was even talk of her going on tour.
Until they got sick and tired of throwing all that money away and decided to just let Paris be. Now, it's as if she never even recorded an album and she might be the only one that still listens to it, while in her car. The British 'Daily Star' spoke to someone from Paris' label and, thank God, they plan to let her music career fade away.
'You don't need to worry about listening to any more music from Paris - there won't be any. Her career as a singer is going to be allowed to quietly go away.', the spy said. That's good news and we can all rejoice about it (except for her three fans all over the world who must be in tears over this as we speak). On the other hand, it just breaks my stone heart to think of all that talent (that Paris had)... all going to the dogs now!
