The source code of Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast was released into the wild a few days ago, and already there’s someone who managed to port it to Linux, in a limited fashion so far.

Just because Raven Software and Activision decided to release the Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast game as open source, it doesn’t mean that making it work in a Linux environment is a piece of cake

Even so, the first signs of a functional port have appeared just a few days after the LucasArts closure. A developer, Jochen Leopold, has posted a work-in-progress image, showing his work so far.

He pointed out that a couple of major features are not working, such as saving and loading, and the sound cues that start too early.

In any case, the results seem promising and we can’t wait to play the game, on Linux.
