With fashion week going through the world's biggest cities, we were bound to find something that would fit into the 'Fashion Police' category. Two weeks ago, it was London's turn, with the model that sported that amazing item of clothing that left her buttocks fully exposed.
Considering that Jean Paul-Gaultier was to present his new line in Paris these days, there's no surprise that he pulled something like this: in response to Madrid officials banning skinny models from the catwalk, the designer chose to make his point by placing a supersized beauty queen in front of his regular models.
Velvet has worked for Gaultier a year prior to this and she is more than accustomed with all the attention. The 'curvy' (we do want to be politically correct here) model strutted her stuff on the catwalk, wearing, as you can very well see, a black fluffy undergarment, black stockings and high heels.
She may have shocked a few people of standing in the front row but, after all, that was Jean's message to the world: women are beautiful no matter their size and fashion does not set the standard of the models' bodily weight. It is certainly not guilty of women starving themselves to look like the models they see on the catwalk, the designer said in an interview taken after the show.
Well, the man does make a good point. Whether he is right or not, that's a totally different story, and nobody is to be the judge of that.
