Earlier this year, a set of new photos of Jean Claude Van Damme in character on the set of his latest movie emerged online. We now have video from the same film, “Welcome to the Jungle.”
Billed a thriller comedy and scheduled for release in 2013, the film aims to show how “a company retreat on a tropical island goes terribly awry,” according to a brief synopsis.
The two videos now out don’t show even the slightest indication of what “awry” means in this particular case, but they do emphasize JCVD’s off-the-wall character, an unhinged ex-marine team-building coach Storm Rothchild.
When a “wilderness seminar” is organized, Rothchild will have to deal with a bunch of office “weaklings” on their first time out in the jungle. The way he’s going to do that is perfectly summed up in the two videos.
“Welcome to the Jungle” is directed by Rob Meltzer on a script by Jeff Kauffman. It does not have a US release date yet.
