14 DAY TRIAL // It’s all but confirmed: the day the On the Run Tour ends is the day Beyonce and Jay Z will announce the divorce. Until then, they have to keep up appearances and pose like a happy family, even if Jay Z is absolutely sick and tired of the charade.
A few days ago, a report claimed the same, offering a detailed but unofficial account of what’s going on in the marriage of the most powerful couple in showbiz. Today, the New York Daily News comes with fresh details, still unconfirmed, on the imminent split.
It’s not looking good for Bey and Jay, and if the report is accurate, the divorce isn’t going to be pretty. Not that we’d ever be allowed to see just how nasty things would get, because these two are too concerned about their brand to not do excessive damage control.
Sources tell the publication that, for a while now, Beyonce and Jay Z have known that there was no saving their marriage. They kept up appearances because that’s what they do best and because coming out with an announcement would have meant a huge financial hit they did not want to take.
Beyonce, one insider claims, could continue like this “indefinitely,” but Jay is “so over it.” “He wants this tour to end and he wants the rumors to stop,” so he wants them to go public with the divorce.
“This [trouble] has been brewing longer than anyone knows,” another insider chimes in. “They’re performers. And they’re good performers. It’s a business now, and they are business partners. And they don’t even fight. They know what it is.”
The only reason they’re not saying anything right now is because they’re being told not to, seeing how they have that tour to wrap up first. So, whenever a new divorce story makes it out in print or online, they go in damage control mode by posting a “happy family” photo, preferably with daughter Blue Ivy.
It’s all about the Benjamins, as Diddy once said. “[They stayed together for] money. They will play the public as long as they can and get richer doing it,” the insider explains.
“This is a classic case of damage control. Staged photos, tweets, it’s a business relationship. They’re on tour and to get through the tour they have to put up a persona. It’s all spelled out. It’s more financially beneficial for them to continue the tour and the Instagrams and tweets while all this is happening. That’s how damage control works,” adds the source.
This report also claims that the reason behind Beyonce and Jay’s decision to divorce is infidelity, his more than hers.
