14 DAY TRIAL // Until May this year, Beyonce and Jay Z were one of the strongest couples in showbiz, not only able to keep their personal life private but also doing their best to never offer any fuel to the tabloid rumors, regardless of their nature. Today, talk of their imminent divorce is picking up.
What changed in May was the leak of the video below, lifted from a surveillance camera in an elevator, showing Beyonce, Jay Z, and Solange getting on it, and the moment the doors closed, Solange putting a major beatdown on Jay, while Beyonce looked on.
Rumor has it that Solange was telling her brother-in-law off for cheating on her sister, which would explain why Beyonce would barely move a finger to get her to stop.
Page Six is taking this report and running with it, claiming that they have it from very reliable sources close to the A-listers that a divorce is imminent. The papers will be filed right after they wrap their current joint tour On the Run, so that will be either in early August, when the North America leg is over, or in mid-September, after their 2 Paris dates.
And just in case you were wondering what caused the rift, the same insiders reveal that Rihanna is to blame, she’s “the other woman,” the one for which Jay took a beating from Solange.
This isn’t the first time that word of a possible affair between the rapper and his young protégée emerges online, but apparently Solange knew for a fact that there was something fishy going on between them.
So, when she heard that Jay planned to send Beyonce home alone, to go meet up with Rihanna at his 40/40 club, she flipped.
“Solange was like, ‘Enough is enough — you must be [sleeping with] Rihanna.’ To many people who know them, they know it’s not out of the realm of possibility,” the insider reveals.
Both Beyonce and Jay Z have been cheating in the marriage, but it was him who crossed the line, the tipster continues. Their union was all about the money at first but they developed real affection in time, so Beyonce was heartbroken to hear of his transgressions.
It was then that she decided to divorce him but she couldn’t do so right away because they had already announced the tour and had been paid in advance for it. Right now, Beyonce and Jay are only ever together on stage when they’re performing, and they’re conducting their split in such a way as to do as little damage to their image as possible.
“There’s face-saving involved — they don’t want to be looked at like other celebrities out there,” another source tells the same media outlet. “They are business people first, entertainers second. Husband and wife comes somewhere down the line.”
As of the time of writing, neither Beyonce nor Jay has addressed in any way these allegations. In Hollywood, there is an unwritten rule that says that the lack of a denial is a half-confirmation in and of itself.
