14 DAY TRIAL // Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are about to become husband and wife in a ceremony that she strives to make the biggest and most eccentric in years. Jay Z will serve as best man, which means that he and wife Beyonce will attend the festivities – but that’s not to say they’re not mocking Kim behind her back.
Jay and Kanye have been working together for some time and, based on response from the fans to all of their collaborations so far, they will probably continue to do so in the future.
They have also been spending time together outside work, which means that Kim got to rub shoulders with the industry elite, including Jay’s wife Beyonce. However, insiders reveal for Radar Online, despite all this and despite the fact that Jay has agreed to be best man in the wedding, he doesn’t think of Kanye as a friend.
Kanye’s ego must be so bruised right now.
To add insult to injury, Jay has been mocking Kim and her wedding plans whichever chance he gets, even saying that “The circus goes to Paris!” right before the Kardashians boarded a plane for the French capital this week, to get ready for the nuptials.
“Jay thinks the entire Kimye wedding is a joke and it’s being blown way out of proportion. He likes Kanye and Kim, but totally talks smack about them behind their backs. When he was asked about the wedding he just laughed,” one tipster reveals.
It’s not just the wedding that amuses Jay, but also the thought that Kanye could do much better than Kim Kardashian who is, at the end of the day, a person who earns a living by selling her private life to the media, be it through her reality show or the stories planted in the glossies.
“Jay doesn’t mind Kanye, but Kim is a big knock on his reputation. She doesn’t exactly have street cred. At least Jay and Kanye make music, Kim doesn’t really do anything. She’s got no real talent and if there’s one thing Jay respects it’s an independent, successful, talented woman. That’s why he’s with Beyonce,” another source says for the e-zine.
That Kim doesn’t really “do anything” is an accusation she’s been trying to fend off for years, whenever the discussion touches on her skills and why she deserves this much attention. Kanye himself joined the conversation on a few instances, saying that Kim is like the Marilyn Monroe of our times because she managed to make herself interesting to the public, a kind of living work of art.
Then again, art is a very relative thing, if you think about it.
