14 DAY TRIAL // As Kim Kardashian is busy planning her May wedding to rapper Kanye West, there is at least one pair of A-listers who have already informed her they won’t be at the ceremony or the reception afterwards, both of which will take place at a chateau outside Paris, in France.
Jay Z and Beyonce won’t be at the gala even though Jay is a very good friend of the future groom, with whom he’s even gone on tour. They refuse to be a part of the media circus that the wedding is bound to generate, a source tells The Sun.
The fact that Kim will be having TV cameras around, to document her big day (her third big day of this type so far) for a special for her reality show, is a further turn-off for Jay and his lovely wife, as they have always tried to keep media exposure down to a minimum.
“Jay Z would be there if it wasn’t going to be such a public event,” says the tipster. Perhaps if Kim had refused E!’s offer to shoot the wedding for Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Jay and Bey would have accepted her invite.
Luckily for Kanye and his future wife, even if Jay Z has already decided he won’t be at the wedding, he will still be sending over a very generous gift: first off, the tab reports, he’s offered to pay for Kanye’s bachelor party, which will be hosted at his New York City club 40/40.
“Instead he’s making it up to his mate by throwing him the most extravagant stag do known to man. It will cost a small fortune,” says an insider.
Then, Jay Z and Beyonce will be picking up the bill for the newlyweds’ honeymoon, having already rented a private yacht for them for the mouth-watering amount of $168,270 (€121,890). No word on the destinations they might sail it to but, at this kind of money, they could keep it docked and still have an amazing honeymoon, we imagine.
The rumor that Jay Z might skip Kanye’s wedding has been around for months because his and Beyonce’s lifestyle clashes with Kim’s idea of living a “private” life. Unlike this musical duo, for Kim, being out of the spotlight even for a day is murder because she lives off the attention.
Kanye might say she’s the Marilyn Monroe of our times but, at the end of the day, Kim is just a reality star. And for a reality star, not getting attention is a worse fate than death.
