The Jamiroquai frontman, Jay Kay, is either an admirable gentleman or just a forgotten star that can't come to terms with the fact that his music is no longer listened to. Yesterday morning, obviously too intoxicated to think, the singer punched and kicked one of the paparazzi until police officers came and cuffed him.
A crowd of photographers was gathered outside a trendy London club, Kabaret Prophecy, and they weren't even expecting to witness such a show as Jay Kay put on, especially for them. In fact, rumor that Lindsay Lohan was inside, sipping vodka after vodka, got around and they came to see her and maybe get the lucky break of snapping her underwear.
When Jay came out he thought that all the media was there for him and he immediately launched a verbal, and then physical, attack on the nearest paparazzo. Reporters from the scene said that, first, Kay asked Alan Chapman if he was Italian and then, after punching him in the face, said 'Well, then, you aren't fast enough'.

But the drunk singer did not stop here: he knocked down Chapman's glasses and continued to kick and punch him until police arrived on the scene. And, even with handcuffs on, Jay Kay kept on hurling insults at the photographers, among which, calling them 'monkeys' was the most decent. 'I pay your wages! You all live in poverty, you miserable f**kers!', people also heard Kay yelling.
Reports from the scene of the brawl state that Jay Kay was, quote, 'out of control, really leery. He clearly had too much to drink and just wouldn't stop', while the assaulted photographer declared that the singer was totally 'steaming drunk'. Jay Kay was kept in police custody for almost ten hours and was released with a caution for common assault.
