Jawbone has a certain product called the Jambox speaker, which doesn't seem all that unusual until you reach the part about software updates.

And by “software updates” we don't mean driver refinements but full-on firmware modifications.

As it happens, a firmware update is precisely what Jawbone has released, one that adds extra functionality to the LiveAudio feature set.

One addition is the support for Jawbone Companion Android app (lets tablets and smartphones connect to the speaker).

A second and arguably more important feature is the silent mode, which disabled tones and prompts.

The update can be acquired from the MyTALK website, located here, and will install higher-quality speakerphone capabilities to boot.

The rest of the specs are the same as before: 60-inch USB cable, 3.5mm audio cable, Bluetooth wireless range of 33 feet (10 meters), etc.
