A train in Tokyo, the capital city of Japan, has been struck by lightning in a recent thunderstorm, and the whole incident got caught on camera.

The video above has been submitted on YouTube by user artcgate01, who was somehow at the right place and the right time to capture the footage. His clip has garnered almost two million views in just two days.

You can see the high-speed train get stopped in its tracks when the lightning hits it, while it is crossing a bridge. The lightning strikes at around the 1:18 mark.

Kotaku has relayed photos snapped inside by passengers, which reveal that the power was cut. You can only imagine the fear they felt as they got stuck on the bridge.

The incident caused delays, but fortunately, nobody has been injured.
