Japanese Trailer for 'Battleship': More of the Same

One of the most anticipated films of 2012 is “Battleship,” based, oddly enough, on the board game no one though could ever be turned into a feature film. A new trailer reveals a bit more footage from it.

Granted, it's in Japanese, but that's not to say you can't watch it; just click on the add subtitles button and you're set.

Produced and directed by Peter Berg (“Hancock”) and with a very impressive cast which includes names from pop star Rihanna to action films veteran Liam Neeson, the film is typical alien vs. humans fare.

It tells the story of mankind's struggle to fight off an alien invasion, which seems to start when an alien ship is discovered by pure accident in the middle of the ocean.

“Battleship” is huge in scope and, movie buffs are already saying, light on substance. Chances are it will also break box office records.

It's out on May 18, 2012.
