Sony has confirmed at E3 2014 that it's finally going to debut the PS Vita TV microconsole that it launched in Japan some time ago in Western markets under the simpler PlayStation TV name this fall.

Sony surprised a lot of people when it revealed the PS Vita TV device last year, delivering a small microconsole that had the same hardware as the PlayStation Vita and supported all of its games, not to mention older PSP titles and even remote play functionality with a PS4.

Unfortunately for gamers in Western territories like North America or Europe, the company released the small device only in its native Japan.

Now, at E3 2014, Sony revealed that the small microconsole is finally making its way to new continents under the PlayStation TV name this fall.

The set of features is intact, meaning the PlayStation TV can play PS Vita games as well as older PSP titles and much more and also has support for PS4 Remote Play, like the regular PS Vita.

Bear in mind that a DualShock 3 or DualShock 4 controller is needed to interact with the device.

The regular PlayStation TV will cost 99 USD/EUR, while one with a bundled DualShock 3 controller will be priced at 139 USD/EUR and also includes an 8GB memory card, an HDMI cable, and a voucher for the Lego Movie Video Game, according to CVG.
