Japanese chef star Miki Nozawa has died in hospital of injuries sustained in a violent dispute that seems to have started over a dish of fried noodles, News.com.au reports.

Nozawa was working on the German island Sylt. His dish of fried noodles with beef and veggies wasn’t to two male customers’ liking, which sparked the violence.

The two men, considered suspects at this point, are still on the loose. The report only mentions they’re 36 and 50 years old.

According to the local media, they asked for their money back from the chef saying they weren’t going to pay for something that gave them zero pleasure.

They got a refund but, apparently, the conflict was far from over.

“Later that night Nozawa, who was regarded as a specialist in Japanese-Italian fusion food, met the two again in a local table-dance bar, where the dispute escalated,” the e-zine writes.

Nozawa was rushed to hospital with massive internal bleeding and brain damage, and died shortly afterwards.
